Flag Day at Mission Homes
Those who served our Country
On June 14th, 2003 Home Free Ministries went to Mission Nursing Home in Plymouth, Minnesota to raise the flag on a brand new flagpole that HFM helped to put in the ground. In February, Jerry spoke to the Volunteer Director who told him about the desire of many of the residents to have a flag pole and American flag to raise and honor each day.( Mission Nursing Home has approximately  40% who served in the armed forces.) Well, that just leaped into Jerry's heart and he set out to make sure those men would be able to do just that. Jerry was able to orchestrate the installation of a flagpole and a brand new flag and the flag raising ceremony was held on. of all days, Flag Day!
Getting ready for the ceremony

HFM would like to thank VFW Post 494 (Crystal, MN), VFW Post 214 (Brooklyn Park, MN), and Mr. and Mrs. David Bernhard (Cedar Rapids, IA) for their generous contributions to this project.
A special thank you to the many HFM volunteers who devoted their time to join us in patriotic singing and honoring our veterans.
